Planning a big modded server for like 30+ players. Would a 6GB or 8GB RAM server even handle that smoothly on Apex? Or do I need more?

Depends on the mods! My 8GB with a few light mods runs okay with 20, but 30+ modded you might want to look at 10GB or even more to be safe. Better to have too much than too little for modded.

For a heavily modded server with that many people, 8GB might struggle. I'd honestly consider a 10GB or even 12GB to avoid lag spikes, especially if you're adding a lot of custom content. You can always upgrade later but starting strong helps.

Yeah, you can change server locations. I did it once, just had to contact their support.

Yep, you can. It's not an instant thing you do yourself, you'll need to open a support ticket with them, but they're usually pretty good about helping you get it moved to a different datacenter if needed.

Hard to say 'better' definitively, but I've personally had fewer issues with Apex in terms of performance and their support responses have been quicker than when I was with Shockbyte a while back. For modded servers, Apex felt more robust.
